General discussion

Panasonic SDR-S26

Jun 16, 2009 12:13AM PDT

I have Vista (only recently) and downloaded the CD that came with the above camera. If I connect the camera and switch it on; then it'll download the files as MOD - not the MPEG Panasonic say it records in.

If I open the ViceoCam Cuite, it tells me to wait until a notice has gone, but it never goes and the only way I can stop the VideoCam Suite from 'working' when it "isn't responding" is to reboot.

Anyone else getting this or has anyone figured-out how to get the MPEG files?

Be grateful!!

Nik

Hi
Yes, MOD files are mpeg2 files, you just need to rename them from .MOD to .MPG.
You can either do this with Windows Explorer or use my small tool SDcopy that can automatically copy all .MOD files from your SD card to a single target folder, rename them and also fix the aspect ratio problem by patching the mpeg2 headers.
You can download it from here:

SDR-S26 Problems
Jun 16, 2009 7:26PM PDT

I've discovered that plugging it into my laptop (running XP) works, in at least recognising the camcorder.

Maybe I need a new CD 'driver' for Vista - despite the box's sign saying that it works with Vista?
