Panasonic SDR -H40 deleted file problem

I have a Panasonic SDR-H40 camcorder. I accidentally deleted some of my video files. Is there any way to restore them? I attached the camcorder to my HP laptop and looked at all the files in each folder but could not find them. Thanks.
