I bought the PVGS200 and was extremely dissapointed with it. It shoots good video in outdoor lighting, but it is not very good inside. If you are going to shoot anything indoors, with one or two lamps on, you will not be happy. I took it back and got the Sony TRV70 and I love it. It shoots great video indoors and out. It also takes much better stills if that matters to you. I have owned many camcorders and never been as pleased with the indoor quality as I am with the Sony. I would highly recommend it, and you can get it a B & H for around $750. Bhphotovideo.com
Hope this helps
I've read several good reviews on the camera and believe it's a great step up for people who are tired of their 1CCD home video cameras. I am an amatuer prosumer buyer and I think this camera will do me good till I can consider myself an actual prosumer. =) What I am really impressed with on this camera is the price, and the low lux rating. I don't remember reading any reviews mentioning the actual low light conditions, maybe I should check that out.
Anyways, I am interested in what prices people have found on it. I found one at A&M photo for $375 (steal) a couple weeks back, but now when I go to the site it says that this model has been discontinued. Have you heard anything like that? I would think that the prices should drop significantly on other sites if it is true, but I haven't seen that happen yet.
