Panasonic PV-GS320 Camcorder connection problem.

by babcockni / May 10, 2008 10:49 AM PDT

I have bought the camcorder stated in title and have used it many times. After my first video i used a usb cable, connected it to my PC and created a movie. It worked perfectly. I also bought a firewire cable but none of my PC's have a firewire plug in so i stick with usb. My father own an Imac which does have firewire, and i have created a few movies using his mac with firewire.

Today i went back ot my PC to try and upload a video from my camera to my PC and the PC now wont connect with the camera using a usb cable. I am using a tape and have succsesfully used usb before on the same computer.

when i plug the camera into the PC it "dings" and the icon shows that its plugged in on the toolbar. But when i go to my movie software and click upload from camera, it doesnt detect the camera.

any ideas???? I have the latest usb download and directx 9.

the USB drivers for DV import are no longer supported and not get anything done, or you can install a decent firewire card, get an appropriate firewire cable and get your video imported and edited.

The one thing you may want to do is try firewire and compare video quality. Most that do this will never go back to USB.

As to your issue being fixed, good deal!

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
