General discussion

Panasonic PV-GS150

Hi there, I'm a film student at Keene State College in New Hampshire. I just recently bought a camera to start my Production classes, and used CNET as a guide to buy my camera. Unfortunately, I didn't join the forum in time to ask anyone for help making this decision, because I'm sure you would have been more than helpful. Under a tough student budget, I was able to get the Panasonic PV-GS150 over on amazon.com used for about $300. I must admit though, CNET let me down. Although this camera is still very good, I was supposed to get a FireWire capable camera, and CNET led me to believe this was a FireWire camera. The link to the CNET specifications is here :

Under the Connections section the first listed connector type is 1 x IEEE 1394 (FireWire/i.LINK). This is no where to be found on the camera. Mistakes happen, but I just thought I should let people know.

when you open the screen...there it is...firewire connector...the connector is not located with the other connectors such as usb, av and mic...but it is located by the screen controls...So hey before you "spread the word"...be a little more meticulous.
