Panasonic PV-DV702 Garbled playback - any solutions??

May 17, 2005 10:37AM PDT

I have a Panasonic PV-DV702 MiniDV camcorder that has had moderate use. I recently tried to transfer my videos to my computer and the images were "pixelated" and jumped and skipped. I got a head cleaning tape and followed the instructions and the problems was solved for a few minutes of playback and then the problem returned. I also notice a faint "grinding" noise in the camera as if the tape is not alligned properly but there is no visible damage to the tape when I take it out. Has anyone had similar problems and if so can I do anything to fix it without paying out the nose to be repaired? Thanks for your help!
Mike

(NT) (NT) Try a different tape. The tape itself may be bad.

I haven't had a chance to take it in to get fixed yet. The closest authorized dealer is 40 miles from me so I'll have to mail it. I'll post again when I get it fixed..hope it's nothing major!
