Panasonic pv-dv52d Palmcorder Microphone

Jun 29, 2006 2:51PM PDT

I am sick of the awful built-in microphone on my pv-dv52d camcorder. I have been looking everywhere for some sort of shotgun microphone compatible with this camera. Does anyone know of any? Or at least ANY other microphon options? Thanks.

No. There isnn't a mic input jack.

Short of luck then.

If the camcorder has no value, maybe an electronics tech could modify the unit?

Get an audio recorder and a video editor.

There are lots of recorders available these days. A decent one will go for around $500 plus a memory card. You might also use a portable computer for this if you have one.

Once you have the audio, merge it with the video in post production.

Audio-Technica has some reasonably priced mics.
