If I've a choice between new Panasonic 50' Onyx TH-50XVS30U Vs Pioneer PRO 1010HD, which one should I pick? Both are available at same price of $6999.

I am debating between the 42" models (Elite vs Onyx) and am stumped... I would love to know what you found out!

Plasmas

The Onyx TV is very nice, however Panasonic came out with 2 lower priced Plasmas. The TH-42px50u and the TH-42px500u, which both have an integrated ATSC tuner and NTSC tuner. The Onyx has a separate media box included with it. That means with the new TVs there is no big extra box you have to find room for. Th px50u and px500u both have 2 component inputs and 2 composite inputs (the px500u also has 1 HDMI input and 1 PC input). The px50u does NOT have PIP (picture in a picture). The px500u has a one tuner PIP (which means you have to have a video source going into the TV to see 2 different images simultaneously). The Onyx has a 2 tuner PIP. The px500u has card slots for viewing digital pictures as well as an EPG (built-in TV guide system). Personally I think the Onyx looks the best, but I won't pay $2000 extra for that. I went with the px500u. It was $4400 plus tax.
