Resolved Question

Panasonic Lumix PhotofunStudio 5.1 on Windows 7 issues

Jun 16, 2014 4:45AM PDT

Hi

I have windows 7 and trying to install photofunstudio 5.1 on it and getting the same recurring problems - installed it but moments later after booting it up, it says its stopped working, and that i can either close program or debug. debug doesnt do anything.

I have a link given on a previous posting several times for 5.1 but this does not help. Have also restarted and uninstalled and reinstalled the software itself several times. I have also tried running as administrator and no difference.

I used to have it running on an Windows XP previously and it worked fine on there.

When I was installing the software, it said something about an OS or SP affecting or that its not supported by the programme or something ,not sure if that has anything to do with it.

This has been a related to a previous discussion but was very old so trying a new one.

Im not that computer techny minded but know basics. I have tried as suggested in old thread to deactivate the AV software, which is currently Avast that im using, and it seemed to let me in, but when I asked it to do updates then it just crashed,

So none the wiser, help anyone??

Many thanks

I should list this link for Windows 7.

http://panasonic.jp/support/global/cs/info/windows7.html

"If your model or software does not appear on this page, there is no compatibility with Windows 7 and no support plan in the future to support Windows 7."

While not what you wanted to read, it appears Panasonic has told you no too.

Firstly, thank you so much for clarifying

Secondly, How disappointing - that wasn't very clever designing was it?? Frustrated doesn't even come close to how I feel

Does you have any suggestions or workaround, so I can upload my photos. Many thx

For years I would remove the memory card

And copy the images to the folder I wanted.

Lumix PhotofunStudio 5.1

This link suggests windows 8 though, mines is windows 7

i think it just suggests updates for the software itself, it suggests that you can turn it off, but it literally comes on for a second or two and then the error message appears saying that PhotofunStudio has stopped working with a status bar looking for a solution.

its completely not letting me in at all now despite the end of my last posting, shall i still try the link you have provided?

I don't think I can help you.

The link noted Windows 8, the web page has "Windows 8" in it's text yet it failed. There are many reasons for apps to do what you noted but here I took care to find a note/web link with Windows 8 mentioned yet you missed it. I think you should call Panasonic for support next.

PS. Reading it again.

Panasonic had the same detail for Windows 7 with the same warnings. If you are using a Windows 7 you installed yourself, Panasonic pretty much said no.
