I'm a web developer looking for a camera that I can use for work (to take photos of products as well as stock photo types to splash onto pages). But I'm also an amateur photographer and would like a camera that can take a high quality shot of various subjects (indoor and outdoor). I'd like a high quality shot in as small a package as possible. I am definately attracted to the compact cameras, portability wise, but would consider a slightly larger camera if it can get me the quality shot that I am looking for. I currently have it down to the:

They both got good reviews but I'm open to consider other cameras as well. I'm hoping some of you might help me decide which camera is the better one - considering, but not limited to, size and picture quality. Or should I maybe wait and pick up the next best to come out? Two other things to keep in mind: (1) I prefer it to be around (but not much more than) $400-500, and (2) I would like to make the purchase before mid-April. Anyone have any advice or wise words to share?
