The right side of the screen is a thick black bar - LCD may be going, can it be fixed or should I just buy a new tv?

What can you get a 32" TV for today?

Even a few parts may cost more. We know that repair is rarely done on the small and even large sets out of warranty. The cost of the sets came down and the service went up.

Is you wrote it's a BAR. That's typical of LCD, connection or driver boards. It does not tell you which it is.

A backlight failure is softer bars, usually left to right and no hard edges.
