Question

Panasonic KX-TG8421 battery issue

Feb 7, 2015 3:00PM PST

Hello,

I have the aforementioned cordless phone and the following problem.
After I charge its batteries then it is working for about 6-7 hours and then all of a sudden
it shuts down. When I turn it on it shows that the batteries are discharged and it shuts down again.
I have tried new batteries but the same problem appears. What could be the problem?

Answer
It looks to be an older cordless phone from 2010?

It could have failed. For me my cordless phone returns to it's charging base and no phone call lasts 6-7 hours so your handset would be fine for my use. Is there some reason you are not returning it to the base?

Yes Bob it's an older phone.

Actually I have it constantly plugged in, in its base.
This is the only way I can have it working all the time, but as far as I know
this is bad for the batteries.

" Once it's fully charged, it knows when to stop the current from coming in to protect your phone from overcharging " From the web.

You may have clients that remember the bad old days of NiCad but letting a Nimh or LiOn run all the way down is now the bad thing to do. Many continue to thing/use about NiCad and well, that's great for new sales.
