Panasonic JPEG Problem

Problem with JPEG's & Panasonic

Over the years I've built up quite a collection of 35mm Slides. I thought it would be neat to store and view them from a CD-R on the TV. I already had a Panasonic DVD/CD Player, with all the bells and whistles, including JPEG. I purchased a HP Scanjet Scanner with the adapter for scanning slides, together with Adobe Photoshop 2, which I used to edit the scanned slides,(mostly the crop feature)and burn as a JPEG ext., onto a CD-R. Only to discover they will not run in Panasonic Player!,very frustrating. I fired off an e-mail to Panasonic, hoping to get some positive feed back. Their reply. Quote:- "The pictures cannot be altered in any way or saved under a different name. The most common
alteration is that photos are rotated on the computer, saved and then burned
to disc. Once the photo is altered in a PC, the JPEG file will lose its associated information and therefore will not be readable in our DVD Players/Recorders."
I questioned whether my editing fell under this category. Reply 'You are correct in that they are not playing because you have edited them'.
Do you believe this!?. I'm now looking for a DVD/Player which will play an 'edited'photo, JPEG ext.,CD-R, other then a Panosonic. What would you recommend?. Thank you.
