Panasonic GS300 vs Elura 100/Optura 50

Aug 6, 2006 5:33PM PDT

Hi experts,
I am planning to buy a camcorder. Intially I thought of Elura 100, later on, one of my friend suggest me Optura 50, instead of Elura, as it has a better CCD.
If I compare Optura 50 and Panasonic GS300, then, three 1/6? CCDs of GS300 will give better performance than single 1/3.4? CCD of Optura 50? I mean, is that so much remarkable and recognisable?
I heard that 3 ccd's cameras are not much good and recognisable, if we are looking under 1000$.
Guy, please help me........
Thanks
Abhishek

This is what I have found by doing research, but not from first hand knowledge. I am planing on buying a Panasonic GS300 also. If you have already made your purchase please let me know what you think. Check out this website camcorderinfo.com they have tested lots of camcorders and seem to know what they are talking about.

I am comparing these two models as well (Panasonic GS300 vs 100/Optura 50. Canons seem to get a very bad rap concerning low light quality, while the GS300 got rave reviews on low light from C/NET. However, when you look at the Speciifications for each, the minimum for GS300 is 12 lux, while it's 2 for Canon! Could someone please enlighten me?
