Question

Panasonic G3 vs Canon T2i

Dec 12, 2011 4:56PM PST

Hello all,

I am new to the DSLR world, but have done enough
research to realize I can't ask others to tell me what the perfect
camera would be. However, I have narrowed my two top choices to the two
listed and would like some feedback.

I was leaning toward the
G3--don't really know why--and then I found the Canon with an 18-55mm
lens and a 75-300mm lens for $750--which seems like a good deal. This is
over $100 less than the two lens kit I found for the G3.

I do realize the G3 is not a true DSLR, but I'm not sure that matters very much. Most of the reviews rate it as a very good camera and a great option to an entry level DSLR--which is why it's on my list.

I have also received a negative response on the 75-300MM lens. This person thought the 55--250 lens was much better. The package deals I found does have this lens available, but it is $70 more. Is the 55-250 lens that much better, and worth the extra $$?

Any insight and suggestions would be greatly appreciated--even if it's on/for a different camera.

Thanks

...there probably is a camera that best suits your particular needs. So what are your needs? After determining that, check out the differences between the two models (the link KenHusveg posted should be very helpful in this regard) and pick the one that suits your needs best.
