panasonic dvd video recorder

DMR-E725V won't read SONY DVD+R discs is this normal?
the manual says they should be compatible

Is this the Panasonic DMR-E75VS? DON'T PUT THAT IN!!!!!!!!!

It does DVD-RAM and DVD-R only from what I read.

What's in your manual?

You may not know that some early DVD recorders would burn out the recordign laser if you put in the wrong media?

Yep, it was a dumb mistake but I'm new to all this. I got the right discs now and no harm done but the more I play with this thing the more questions I have.As you will see later.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
