My Correction to this thread: This is a PHOTOfunStudio 4.0 compatibilty issue with Windows XP-PRO (Media Edition) not my DMC-ZR1 camera.
I purchased a Panasonic DMC-ZR1 after much research in the $300 and less price range. Have been very satisfied with its function till now.
I just filled the memory for the 1st time and wanted to downloaded everything to my Dell Insperon 1501 with Windows Media Edition (Is XP-PRO with Service Pack 3. When I clicked on Panasonic's: PHOTOfunSTUDIO 4.0 also for the 1st time and received this error message:
In a window labeled "FormSplash" the message was
"Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately.
Object reference not set to an instance of an object."
Uninstalled the SW and re-installed with same result. Called Panasonic Tech Support and after putting me on hold for a minute the guy came back and told me I needed a computer technician because it was either a Microsoft or Dell Issue and not their SW. The User's Guide states their SW is compatible with XP-PRO with Service Pac-3.
I have numerous other Imaging SW apps on the laptop but am concerned that using one of them instead of the Panasonic SW may impact the integrity of my digital photo's and video.
Please advise...any help is appreciated.
