The message "please turn camera off and then on again"
appears to be a common message that occurs for more than one reason.
Most are associated with the lens extending or retracting.
If the camera has been dropped or on the beach where sand can get into the lens mechanism can account for such a message too.

Hello all ![]()
I have had my FX100 for over 2 years now and it has been brilliant.... until recently!
Now, after 17 seconds the camera displays the message "please turn camera off and then on again".
It doesn't matter if I put the camera on a desk pointed at a wall, or start taking photos, after 17 seconds.. "please turn camera off and then on again".
The only time it doesn't do it is if I'm in the playback mode looking at the photos I've taken.
Does the camera do something after 17 seconds that I don't know about (adjust lens or something) as reading the (many) other posts with this problem it seems to be things like that that cause it.
I have also taken the battery out for 24 hours, reset to factory settings but still have the same problem.
Is this a software problem, does anyone know if I can re flash the camera?
Thank you ![]()
