Here is the link for this years model. It has a lot of options for inputs,, but you have to buy extra input cards at $$$$, or buy an external switcher.
Compaire with this one.

I like Satellite, others like cabel.
Dishnetwork has a HD-DVR 942 that will also recive OTA ATSC HD broadcasts if you live close to a major city. So you would just need this unit and a GOOD DVD player.
May be a HDMI switcher also. Do some rading and repost if you need more help. John
I am starting from a clean slate. I am looking to buy a Panasonic Plasma 42" HDTV; Industrial version -- "Panasonic TH-42PHD7UY" after reading reviews etc. I understand this is a stripped down verion of the consumer model. What are the things I need to go with this -- cards etc. I am thinking of a home theater system. Unclear if I am getting cable or satellite.
Would appreciate if someone gave me an opinion on Cable vs Satellite as well. Unlikely to get DVR, Tivo etc.
Thanks a lot.
