by Andrewmpalmer2003 / September 28, 2009 10:51 PM PDT

Hi all,

Just re configured my device, to show some colleagues some snaps, but it will not syn new pictures onto the devices, but it will sync everything else. I have no sync error messages. All the contacts and calendar messages are fine from outlook, slightly puzzled.

Any tips

Its did not come with a camera, but it holds media, i had synced it previously, and it has pics on he device.

I have never had a card on the device,s o not sure how the pictiures got there? I presume i must have dropped them in a folder, and sync and hey presto....

I'm a little stuck now, especially as i cannot get no PALM person - person support !...things are not like they used to be.....well not with Palm !

Here's my Palm desktop software where there is a media button. This is not me writing a tutorial on how to use the software, how to set sync settings but I will point to those as places to explore.

Tell me about your settings and if you can the version of the Palm desktop. I use the one you would download from

Me? Just someone that writes a few Palm applications. We have a few e2's in the field now.

Thanks Bob,

I did not relise the only way to sync the pics was through the Palm desktop by access package...and the media section.

I thought you could find the associated file through windows explorer, drops photos in there and then sync.

Another problem solved on my problems and things to do list !!!

I'll try to explain why that is so.

It's all about the file systems in use. The file system inside the Palm is not what it appears to be. I can't duplicate the web content on this subject but "something" called a conduit is used to handle the translation of files on your PC to/from the PDA. The easy way is with the Palm desktop in this case. Remember we are talking about what is a PDA with a design from 2 decades ago. I know some that can't wrap their head around that but it is what it is.
