The format on the DVD is the same. The player determines it the output will be NTSC or PAL.
Regions only apply to copy rights. Any DVDs you made with one of those crapy DVD cameras would be region free. John
So... there's a lot of stuff on this subject but I'm still confused. I want to record DVDs with a camcorder like the Sony DVD403 in the US but send the DVDs to my mother in the UK. It seems DVDs are in either a PAL or NTSC format. So if I want to do this I must buy a UK camera and convert the DVD for US use or buy a US camera (much cheaper)and convert the DVD for UK use (harder?). I have a number of PCs and plenty of software to do this but wanted to just stick a DVD in the mail for my mother.
I thought all DVDs were in the same format and could play anywhere (region codes permitting).
