customers at fault too

they have a lot of tv's. there are a lot of customers always comming in and messing around with it. i hate people that come in and turn the sharpness, brightness, contrast, and picture ALL the way up, then telling me "see, doesnt that picture look better". they gotz too many tv's to take care of and not enough knowledgable people to do it. any panasonic remote should work and they should have it on hand.

and at least in the BB i work at, we are able to get the industrial plasma for customers if they are interested. the process is just a lot more complicated...adding to the fact that most employees dont even know what an industrial plasma is.

Customers.....
Oct 17, 2005 9:11AM PDT

There may be a few customers out there that feel the need to find and mess around with the settings, but the majority don't. If sets are poorly "tuned" it is the store and it's staff fault. If no one on staff knows how to read, and use a DVD player they certainly should not be handing out BS to customers. Unfortunatly, in many big box stores, that seems to be normal. How many people have posted on this forum asking about life expectancy of a plasma, and of course the changing of the plasma bulb??? Way too much crap being fed to the average consumer, it's a wonder they buy anything electronic these days.
Lots of people buying the cheap ED sets beng told they are "true" HD sets, bulbs for projectors only cost 200.00, and last at least a couple of years, I wish.
It's a shame that people get "con'ed" into buying inferior product. I realize for some it's what fits the budget, but there are many out there that think they have "top of the line" gear, when all they really have is mediocre, and someone just made a lot of money off them.

Thats what i thought too... When I told the employee that the contrast and possibly the saturation was off, he gave me a blank look of confusion... They really do need to educate employees...

As for the Panasonic

Nothing wrong with these sets when set up properly.
I will remind you, any plasma, if given a poor picture will look bad, it will show all the imperfections in the picture, so non HD material can look hazey, or grainy.
DVD, D-VHS, most digital satellite or cable channels and of course all HD material should look good to great.
