pages wont load properly

by Claudia_T / January 21, 2006 3:27 AM PST

This is just driving me nuts... I went and got my computer fixed for a couple hundred dollars to re-install everything. It seemed to be working good.

Now just a couple of weeks later and Im having problems again.

My homepage is here: http://www.countrymanordesigns.com

I used to be able to view the page just fine when I went online to my homepage. But now all of a sudden the top parts of the page load but all the bottom parts of it stay "white" and empty for quite awhile before finally loading.

It does the same in my CUTE Html program when I open the page and not just when I try to access the page online.

I have Windows XP. My computer is a HP Pavilion a320n.

I tried just getting rid of various things on the page to see if that was the problem.. but it either kept doing the same thing or else something pops up in my Cute Html editor saying access is denied... when I try to fix my own homepage ...

The guy who fixed the computer installed Earthlink pop up blocker and spam blocker, etc... so I thought well maybe thats whats the problem so I tried turning it off for a while to see if the page would load properly but still doesnt.

I thought maybe its something missing from the NVIDIA viewer?

Can anyone help?

Claudia

figured out the problem
by Claudia_T / January 21, 2006 3:58 AM PST

Nevermind about that, I had someone to online to my homepage and it viewed the same for them, I eleiminated the bravenet traffic exchange pop up code and it solved the problem.

It didnt use to cause this problem for loading my page... so Im guessing its a problem of some kind with bravenet itself, so I removed the code temporarily from my page.

Claudia, About Bravenet..
by Grif Thomas Forum moderator / January 21, 2006 9:11 AM PST

The Bravenet sites contain a lot of advertisements and as such, it is included in a number of HOSTS files..Those HOSTS files will block access to the Bravenet site and cause a section of the screen to remain blank.

That might be the issue.

Hope this helps.
