Pages and Word and PDF

Dec 8, 2010 4:30AM PST

Hello,

I'm saving Pages documents and Word documents as pdfs but in both instances, the pdf created is different to that saved. With Pages, when the pdf is sent to a pc and opened, the colours are different. When a Word document is saved as a pdf it cuts the edges off the original document. This is driving me crazy!! Never had this problem with the PC ...

Any help would be gratefully received.

Cheers.

How are you creating the PDF?

I ask because I do not see any option to Save As PDF in Pages. Of course, I could have missed something.

Are the colors correct when viewed on the Mac?

PDFs...

I have tried by both the print as pdf and the export as pdf methods.

The colours look fine on the Mac, I've tried e-mailing it to three different PCs and the problems with the colours remain.

Thanks,

D.

Just one thing.

PCs and Windows in most cases have no color calibration. And most Macs don't either but for reasons we can only guess the color consistency is better on the Apples.

The other problem with PCs is you are never sure if the user's machine is on some 8 or 16 bit color setting. It's wildly out of control.

Yes, that's a problem.
