Page Plus X3 & Epson Stylus R 260 problem.

Hello All,

I run Windows XP Pro. SP3. I use Desktop publishing program Page Plus X3 and Epson Stylus R260 Printer.

Since Sunday I have been experiencing the following problem.

When attempting to print business cards using X3 and R260 after clicking on Print the printer fails to respond and upon cancelling the print job my pc freezes up. The printer seems to be printing but nothing happens. I have to shut down the pc and turn off the printer.

On several occasions when I rebooth and attempt to print something else with another program eg, greeting card program, the same thing occurs.

I tried uninstalling and re-installing both printer and X3 as well as running several scans with my Anti Virus, SuperAntispyware (paid version) and Malwarebites (free version. Nothing was found and the problem still persists.

The printer works on a test print and with word documents but that's it. Moreover my internet pages are loading slowly and freeze ups are now taking place frequently.

This pc is the sole machine used in my business of desktop publishing and hence my anxiety in trying to find a solution to this problem.

Hello Proffitt,

My apologies for not replying earlier. I was away on work business for a few days.

Thank you for your reply. The contents thereof were duly noted.

I had only 3 weeks ago cleaned out my system, fans and all else. I have done it again but no results. However I had a free online scan done via Trend Micro which found two little nasties and I deleted them. The printer worked and is now working perfectly.

I was informed that a a net meeting took place on yahoo messenger and the contents thereof was saved and printed. I suspect that the little nasties entered via the messenger site unnoticed by Avast, (Free Version), SuperAntispyware, (paid version)and Malwarebites (free version).

All is well now and I thank you greatly for your suggestions.
