General discussion

page cannot be displayed

Feb 24, 2004 6:43PM PST

I have Windows XP installed on my computer. Recently, for no apparent reason, when I attempt to open a web site or go to another page on the same web site, a screen comes up stating "This page cannot be displayed". Yet when I click on the same page 10 seconds later I get a valid page. This situation is happening frequently and is very annoying to me. Does anyone know what can be done? Thank you very much

Normal ... Unfixable ... site(s) have all the control and how they configure it. Good example I right click a place I wish to go but desire to do this opening a new window and no page is found, yet if I click it (not opening a new window) it would work fine.
Take it as their loss and keep on truckin -->>>>> lol c-ya

The article "Troubleshooting Browsing Error Messages in Microsoft Internet Explorer" describes the steps you can use to troubleshoot the following error messages:

a. The Page Cannot Be Displayed.

b. Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site Web address. A connection with the server could not be established.

c. The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings.

d. Cannot find server or DNS Error.

e. An internal error occurred in Windows Internet extensions.
