P2370 - Trouble Adjusting Monitor Resolution - Overscanning?

by LAWolfe5 / June 15, 2009 10:33 AM PDT

p2370 Samsung - When I set the display to the recommended settings 1280 x 1024 the screen extends so far out of visual fields that I have to scroll way down to get the bottom tool bar to appear - and of course, the top tool bars then disappear. I also have to scroll very far to the right to get to the right side of websites, documents, etc. to get the X to close a file/site.

When I use lower settings (the highest I can use is 1024 x 768 without losing my bottom or top tool bars)the quality of fonts is inferior and over sized and "pixelie."

I downloaded drivers to make sure they were up to date and tried changing DPI as well.

Any thoughts? The monitor looks GREAT with videos but as a web designer I need to have good quality fonts on my screen with multiple tabs open at the same time - to have them disappear just to get better quality font display is not working for me.

Please reply in "for dummies" language. Hardware mystifies me!

LAWolfe5,

Do you have a P2370 or a P2370HD?

I have the P2370HD thank you for asking. My son looked at my PC and determined it was the drivers for the graphics card improperly installed by Dell and the problem was not with the monitor drivers. He updated the graphic card drivers and now the monitor works great!

I love the monitor and am now very pleased with it.
