Google 970m and 980m and see the results at notebookcheck. My son bought the Asus ROG with the 960m and it's running Metal Gear Solid 5 on high with no issues. You're a step up.
The model he got has the 6th gen i7 with DDR4 RAM. It does very well and we gave it a SSD to replace the HDD for 120 bucks (500GB SSD.)
Since the 960m was performing without overclocking, I can't guess why you would overclock higher models.
Hi, I've been in the market for a gaming laptop for a while now,and was about to go for an asus rog g752vt when I stumbled on Xotic Pc; I have narrowed down my search for what laptop I would like from the website, the three options I have chosen are :
Asus rog g751jy ( 980m w/ 4 gigs of vram, i7 4720hq 16 gigs of ram)
Asus rog g752vt ( 970m w/ 3gb vram 32 gigs of ram - theres an offer on at the moment - i7 6700hq )
Alienware 17 r2 ( 980m i7 4710hq 16 gigs of ram )
now, you can overclock the gpu's on all three of these, and I was wandering which one would be best for over clocking ;
whilst doing some research on the topic, I found that the temperatures of the gpus go up, so this is why I considered the asus rog g752vt ( I also love the design )
Anyway, what laptop would you go for, also is it worth overlcoking the gpu?
many thanks !
