Question

Over 200 Spam a day on one of my computers

May 11, 2013 12:59PM PDT

I have Win 7 64 bit. About 3 weeks ago I started getting over 200 spam emails on this computer every day. my other computer which is a win 7 64 bit and connected to net work with this computer gets none. I have Norton Internet security on both. And free super antispyware. How can I stop the spam? Barb

Emails aren't sent to computers. Emails are sent to email addresses. So if you start using that other computer for the email adresses you now use this computer for, and the other way around, the other computer will receive those 200 mails and this one will receive 0 mails.

Or aren't you talking about email? Then please tell more.

I thought it was strange my other computer didn't get them. I use the same email address on it. But I don't go to web sites on the other computer. Just use it mainly for email and face book. I think I am mainly getting these from Yahoo search sites I go to. So I guess no way to stop them. Thanks Barb

Facebook is a website too.
And email can be a website, for example gmail.com or outlook.com or the webbased yahoo mail.
And I don't understand what you mean with "Yahoo search sites".
And what you mean with 'using an email address' on computer 1 (the one that gets 200 spams).
So it's rather unclear to me what you mean with your last post.

And it's rather unclear also what you mean with email spam in your first post. And how you can get emails on the first computer if you use the second for mail.

So maybe it isn't mail at all. So maybe it's just that you (by accident) downloaded malware, add-ons, toolbars, search bars, whatever, the shows ads in your browser. If you don't like that you must uninstall or remove that malware, add-ons, toolbars and search bars that cause it.

I have done all kinds of scans checking for malware. Finally I have set my privacy on high on internet opt. tools. So see if that helps. It was on medium. But this just started about a month ago. Thanks Barb
