Outstanding glitches...

Jun 5, 2007 3:47PM PDT

There are a few outstanding glitches that I'd like to bring up as the original reports have fallen far down the charts.

# Unrecognizable Usernames
* The forum profiles continue to be unable to handle special characters in usernames, displaying another member's profile instead. Unacceptable usernames are still able to be registered.
* Reported: March 2007

# (NT) Posts
* When you create a post with no body and preview, (NT) is automatically inserted. If you then return to the post using the Edit button and add a subject, then preview again it the (NT) is no longer displayed. Upon submitting, though, (NT) is automatically reinserted at the start of the subject line.
* Reported: March 20, 2007

# Forum Page
* If you are viewing a thread that resides on Page 2 or beyond of that forum, and then return to the forum listing, you are returned to Page 1 regardless of your previous position.
* Reported: December 29, 2006.

# Message Marking
* Random threads will report no new replies when there are or new replies when there are none. This most frequently occurs when you are the last one to reply to the thread. This was formerly a problem in the old forums for several months.
* Reported: November 15, 2006.

# Duplicate Notification
* If you go to post a message with a duplicate subject or body you are taken to the Cnet 404 instead of receiving the appropriate error message. (FORMERLY: The bold red text was displayed but the forum software ?forgot? where you were (You are suddenly in the forum called ?Forum?), making it impossible to Preview or Submit your post.)
* Reported: October 31, 2006.
* Updated: March 14, 2007

Any status reports on these?
John

older threads take a long time to load,if in fact the do load.

Also slow loading is still lingering around and page not found.
