Outook Exp and McAfee set up?

Jun 6, 2005 1:22AM PDT

I'm using Windows XP and AOL. I'm trying to set up Outlook Express and McAfee pop up window will not let email go out. It says there might be a worm? I scanned the computer and nothing. Also..when I try to fix it w/McAfee instrucions...McAfee pop up will not continue due to script error????

Just re-read my response, and I would add some things.
Do you have any anti-spyware programs installed? If so,run them. If not, go to Microsoft Windows Update Web-site and get MS Anti-spyware. It is free. You might want to have (and use) more than one, because one will not remove all the spyware. Go to infostar.com, give Peter a small donation for maintaining this wonderful website, and go to the virus info. page. There you will find many good, free, A-V, anti-spyware, firewalls, etc.Help yourself! Now get rid of the McAfee. It is full of glitches, uses too much capacity, and is slow to run. I recommend you try AVG, BitWare BitDefender, and Panda, as well as any of the others that you take a fancy to. For firewalls, I like ZoneLabs freeware. There are others but some require quite a high level of technical ability. More than I like to bother with! For Anti-spyware, I like the ever popular Lavasoft Ad-Aware, Spyware Blaster from majorgeeks.com (free) and I mentioned above the MS.

Have fun! 8-)

First get rid of McAfee. It stinks and their tech help flops. I use Norton and I have no troubles at all. Had McAfee and it was trouble after trouble.
