Jimi,
There must be a copy somewhere around, I should say, like in your Temporary Internet Files. Go and search for it in Explorer and use the 'Modified Date' to find the most recent version.
The correct procedure to edit files received is:
- save the attachment in My Documents (or whatever place you prefer)
- then use the editing program (like Word) on that copy.
NEVER work with the attachment directly!
Hope this helps.
Kees
I opened an attachment directly from an email in outlook and have been editing it for days now, and saving as I went along. When i re-opened to work on it, i'd just click it off my "recent" files list in Word. I went to work on other documents and its now no longer on my recent files list. The file it was supposed be saved as is an old version of the file.
My question is, is the file i was working on recoverable or have I lost it for good?
Please shoot me an Email if you can help
