Outlook Sends Attachments Without Being Told ...

Jul 25, 2004 12:13PM PDT

My cousin has an unusual problem: Whenever he sends an e-mail, Outlook attaches one particular *.VCF file (an address book entry, for his step-daughter in this case). He deleted that entry and apparently doesn't have the problem any more.

Any idea what causes it? And why that particular person? I told him it sounds like a virus, but he said he scanned his system and found nothing.

Any ideas, folks?

"VCF Cards are virtual business cards that contain information in them like your name, address, telephone number, email address & web site address.

To disable VCF Cards in Outlook Express:

With Outlook Express Open > Select > Tools > Options > Compose
Make sure that the the "mail" portion of business cards is not checked."

It's in a similar place in Outlook.
