This support page from MS might be more helpful assuming you've already tried just enabling/disabling/enabling above. It has to do with finding the specific file responsible for your autocomplete cache, an ".NK2" file on your system. Follow the instructions to rename the old one, and let it rebuild a new one:

How do I love thee, Slikkster?

Let me count the ways.

You are great. I knew how to check to see if the feature was enabled and it was so I just let it go from there. On your advice, I unchecked it then checked it again and - voila - autocomplete is working again with all my old email addresses so I dont have to go thru the painfully slow rebuild and I dont have to fool around with that file thing.

Thx a TON!

My pleasure

It was the least I could do for a fellow NY'er. Glad it worked out.

I suggest you start a new post with all the details. Outlook now has about a dozen versions and there are issues with some antivirus suites.

Please start a new post with the details.
