You may need to try another tree in the registry but I hear the key name is the same. If you have older Office 9 and 10 subkeys, you may need to delete them. Make a backup!
Also a typical Microsoft lightbulb trick is to turn a feature off and back on to get it to turn on. Try:
1. Click on the Outlook icon in the system tray
2. Uncheck "Hide when minimized"
3. Minimize Outlook
4. Click on the Outlook item.
5. Check "Hide when minimized"
6. Minimize Outlook
That's all I know about this.

Outlooks (Outlook 2003) funtion to minimize to the system tray is nice as it saves space on the taskbar. However, now it doesn't show every other time (randomly as far as I can tell). I can click it on the quick launch bar, and it opens immediately as if I had clicked on the system tray, but why does it disappear from the system where I want it?
