Hi Katiebug.
I think this is a problem of method and finesse. (I hope you don't think I am being rude by saying that).
The problem is that changing font styles, (size, bold, italics, underline, etc), produce hidden commands in the document. Such commands should be immediately before and after text, eg sentences might look like below if we could see the hidden commands;
<font size=''12''>This would be larger text, </font><font size=''10''>but this would be smaller.</font>
I am not saying that the hidden instructions look like that, but it is a representation. But look what happens if spaces, and paragraphs are included, eg;
<font size=''12''> This is the first line of a paragraph that extends for a few lines.
Then there are two spaces before the next paragraph, then another space.....</font>
<font size=''10''>and the next line starts here in a smaller font, then a new paragraph;
</font><font size=''12''>
and the end here.</font>
I hope you can see that if I started deleting words or lines, I ''might'' catch and delete a font command in error. Then, anything typed immediately after the deletion would be either in default font, or in the font size that has not been deleted and is still current.
You can try this yourself in Word or your favorite Word Processor. Type a few lines in one font size, then in another, and start deleting lines and spaces and paragraphs. Then start typing again at the beginning or end of other lines. I'm sure you will see that you may have deleted font commands in error.
There's no real solution. Just find and use a method that doesn't mix up fonts like this, eg, write your email in full, then cut and paste what you need. Or write the email in Notepad or Word, and cut and paste into the email you want to send.
Good luck.

I use Outlook all the time as my email administrator. I have gone into the program and changed my default font to Sans something-or-another, 10 font.
The problem is, when I am replying to emails, if I type a portion of my reply, then highlight and delete portions of the email I'm replying to and I go back up to where I finished typing, the font reverts back to Times New Roman 12.
This is really irritating and I don't know how to make it accept a permanent change.
Thanks,
Katiebug
