Hello friends,
We've set up Outlook Express to send an "Out of town - auto-reply"
when the "Out of town auto-reply" option is checked in Mail Rules
(Tools \ Message Rules \ Mail \ Mail Rules.) This allows a customized, automated response to be sent out to anyone who emails us while
we're out of the office.
However, it has come to our attention that several people in our Address Book
have been receiving spontaneously sent emails containing this notification at
random times - sometimes multiple emails per day.
These emails were not in response to the recipient having
sent us an email - rather they were seemingly spontaneously sent by our
computer.
Any ideas what's going on?
Thanks in advance.
Doug

Hi Bob,
Sorry, I'm not following you. What "example" are you referring to?
I do get that if BOTH parties have set up "Auto replies" that they would bounce auto-reply emails back and forth in an endless loop. But that's not the case here, only one party (us) has set up an auto-reply in Outlook Express.
