Outlook Express-receiving 2 copies of each incoming message

Nov 11, 2005 11:22PM PST

I have OE6. Am running Office standard edition on XP.
The second copy of the email is identical and arrives at the same time. Sometimes it goes away after a day or so. Why am I getting duplicates?

Re: duplicate messages in OE

Dovbaer,

There are two mysteries here:
1. Duplicate arrival of e-mail
2. Spontaneous disappearance of e-mail ("sometimes").

Let's start with the basic:
1. Outlook Express isn't part of MS-Office (but of Internet Explorer). So you got in the wrong forum. And it doesn't matter you don't mention the version of Office (2000, XP, 2002, 2003).
2. Who's your ISP and what protocol does your account use (pop3, imap, http)?
3. What's the setting of 'leave message on server' (Advanced account properties)?
4. Did you already complain with your ISP about them sending the same message twice?

Thanks for your prompt response. Didn't know that OE is bundled with Explorer, not Office. I'll follow up on your suggestions.
