Outlook Express question.

Oct 29, 2004 11:52AM PDT

I have a friend running win xp with earthlink for his internet provider. On his outlook express he keeps receiving the SAME emails over and over again each time he logs onto his account. It says he has 172 emails, he will receive 104 and then it stops, if you exit outlook express and restart it the SAME 104 emails come back even after deleting them. I have installed and ran nortons 2005, adaware, spybot and trend micros house call, removed several viruses and what not. I also turned off system restore before running nortons and the other programs mentioned above. But the same problem occurs over and over again. Is this something common for outlook express or would it be an Earthlink problem? I tried contacting Earthlink by phone but i need a translator to understand the language they speak. Sad Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks.

The problem resides with email messages out on your ISP. I only assume they are corrupt. I had the same problem. To solve my problem, I opened up Internet Explorer & logged into my ISP, opened my email inbox. There I would count from the back of the list to the 105th message(in this case) & delete it. Then I'd switch back to Outlook Express, hit Send/Recieve & watch that they all came through. Sometimes it was more than one message I'd have to delete. Hope this solves the problem.
