outlook express out of office auto reply disaster

Jul 12, 2006 2:29AM PDT

I set up an out of office auto reply message, got a spam email and they had a 40,000 email conversation while I was away. I've manually deleted my inbox and sent mail--yep, 40,000 in there too, but my hard drive is still showing full. 170mb free out of 5.99gb. I don't have enough space to run a defrag and I tried to compact my emails through tools/options/maintanence/clean up now with no luck

any suggestions?

Thanks

AC

Look at the google.com results for OLEXP BACKUP to learn more about the files that contain outlook express email.

AutoReply message in Outlook Express
Jul 25, 2006 10:16PM PDT

Hi,

You need to set this as a New Rule

a)Prepare your message text and save it as *.txt.
b)In Outlook Express => Tools => Message Rules => New rules => All message ,.... Reply with (name of the saved message file).
c)Apply this rule to the Inbox,... (you need to set no for the Send when connected option).

d)Just ask you colleague to send a test message on your email address.

Good luck
