outlook express help needed please

Aug 21, 2004 12:22AM PDT

Just recently, every time I go to send an e-mail using outlook express (Windows ME) I receive an error message stating that "one of the recipients was rejected by the server"

I can receive mail, just not send it.

I'm not very computer literate, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi,

Error message "one of the recipients was rejected by the server" reads as mail sent to multi address or fowards.

If this is true then one of the address is incorrect.

If no mail is getting out, single address, then it will be in your account settings. Contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for the correct settings or post your ISP here and somone will assist.

Bill, thanks for getting me started. Here is the exact message I received when trying to send myself a message to my office -

"The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server. The rejected e-mail address was 'lking@clintonville.k12.wi.us'. Subject 'hi', Account: 'pop3.frontiernet.net', Server: 'smtp.frontiernet.net', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '554 <lesking@froniternet.net>: Sender address rejected: loopback address in A, MX, or NS records (127.0.0.0/Cool. See http://postmaster.frontiernet.net. See http://postmaster.frontiernet.net', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 554, Error Number: 0x800CCC79"

It is doing this for every message I send, single party. By ISP do you mean frontiernet? That is the company that I receive my internet service through. My apologies for being slow in this area.

Thanks again!

It was really stupid. All I did was re-type in the account line and the server line. I re-typed them the same as they were shown but for some reason it worked. Not sure why???

backspace,
Me thinks you should of started this in a new post.

But since I'm here...

What does
"I just cant delete or drag this error message." mean?

If, you are using Outlook Express and each time you open the application the message is appearing you may be saving your mail on the server.

Open Outlook -> open "tools" -> click on "Accounts".
Open Mail Tab ->select E-mail account ->
click on properties button.

Open Advance Tab. Near bottom of page look for
"Delivery" -> Uncheck "Leave a copy...."
Click apply ->OK

If this is not it re-start as a new post.
It will be picked up quicker as the orginal
posters issue appears to be resolved.
