Outlook Express error

Jan 3, 2006 1:13PM PST

I am on Windows XP Pro SP2, with OutLook Express 6 SP2.

I have no problems sending and receiving mail with my DSL connection. However, with dialup, I am not able to do so, getting the error message at OE :

The host 'mail server' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Account: 'my account', Server: 'mail server', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D

The ISP for DSL and dial up are the same.

I have used system restore and ran ipconfig /renew. My computer is free of parasites by Ewido, AVG, Spybot, Ad Aware SE and Sypware Blaster.

I am able to send and receive without problems with anothrt computer.

To sum up, I am not able to send and receive e-mails with Outlook Express while on dialup, but have no problems while on DSL, or while using another computer. Any ideas ? Thanks.

But the issue should be called to your ISP's attention. It looks like they have a problem.

....indeed they may have a problem, but they are still checking on it before admitting so.
