Outlook Express does not send/receive all subfolders

by cchevaux / June 12, 2009 4:49 AM PDT

I had to do a system restore this week and reinstalled my apps. All is working except Outlook Express. I CAN get my MSN account main folders replicated but CANNOT get any subfolders replicated that I've created to store emails. It worked before the system restore. Any ideas?

Replicated?

Not sure what you mean.

Can you create your own folders in OE? If not, what happens?

Are you having problems with Send/Receive? That's what your post title says, but I don't know what the problem is you are having.

Outlook Express replication problem

In reply to: Replicated?

I can create new folders in OE. What I cannot do is send/receive all folders, custom folders and emails from my msn account to OE. I have under 'local folders' inbox, outbox, sent items, deleted items, drafts. My inbox looks like it contains all emails I would see if were logged into MSN directly, not using OE. The folders that are emply and should not be at outbox, sent items, delted items, and drafts. These folders do not reflect what I actually have in MSN. To this, I have about 30 'move to' custom folders I created within MSN to store emails that do not exist in OE. Bottom line, prior to restoring my system I could send/receive all mail and folders and view them in OE.

Then see http://www.css.qmul.ac.uk/mail/outlook/basics/basics.html
Are you sure the settings for all folders are set to "All messages"?

Most people use pop3, so it's understandable that even Mark didn't understand. Maybe "synchronize" would have been a better word, as that seems to be the term OE uses.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
