Outlook Express any outgoing mail server

Oct 24, 2006 12:19AM PDT

I have two internet providers (cable and DSL). I mainly use cable, but if it is down, I switch to DSL. If I try to send an email from Outlook Express when I had to switch over to DSL (or offsite from my laptop), I always get this message.

"Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10053, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F "

On my mail tabs, I have them sent to any available and no authentication required.

I can receive emails no matter where I am connected, but cannot send unless I am connected to MY cable connection.

My question....... can Outlook Express be changed to send mail OUT from any connection?

No. You can thank the spammers why this is so.

You can only use the email server that is on the network you are connected to. And even then some only allow the return address to match your account name.

Outlook (all versions) don't have a mechanism to change this as you change email servers.

Thank the spammers...

Oh well...

I just have to go to one of the online email providers to work around it, but it is aggravating to click send and get that message. But if that's the only problem I have in a day, it's a fantastic day, eh?
