Outlook Express address book exporting

Dec 31, 2005 8:01AM PST

I want to export my OE address book to a csv file. I have a 'shared contacts' and a 'personal contacts' folder in the address book. When I use the wizard to do the export, only the contents of the 'personal contacts' folder are exported. A search for any entry correctly searches in both folders. How do I solve this export problem?

Thanks for any help.

Ootlook express same problem

I just purchased a new computer. Moved my address book and contacts. No problem, but all the sub-folders I created over the years in my address book didn't export or show upin the new computer. Did you ever figure this out?

Outlook Express address book importing
Jan 17, 2006 4:01AM PST

I just imported my address book which had categories 'shared' and 'personal' to a new computer. The result was that the all the contacts went into my 'personal' section, which combination was what I was trying to achieve on my old machine. So your result is consistent with that, although not what you want.

Adress book GROUP..

If you ever created a group addressess, please check the content regularly, because sometimes the contents will have email addresses that are not supposed to be in that group.

Let say you have family and friends email addresses and you created a group called Family, then you put your family email addresses, under the group... after a while, your Friends email address will be in the list too.

ESPECIALLY if you do an Export/Import frequently. Maybe it get mixed up in the process.

Just a precautions...
