You can ask in the Security Forum, but new exploits of old versions of OE 5 are not unheard of. There are now emails that are virus laden that can execute without you previewing them in the older OE's.
As such you might be forced into an upgrade. Right or wrong, in spite of any feelings on your own, the 5.0 version is just not safe anymore.
Your issue may be something else, but this issue is now here and won't go away.
If you want to try to stay with OE 5, then you'll need to clear out your email at the ISP either by calling them and having them do it or installing another email program and using that.
Outlook Express has for the last couple of days only received mail up to a certain message then stops and displays an error message that the server has terminated the connection unexpectedly with an Error No 0x800CCC0F. The first few messages are received correctly.
Each time it checks for new messages, the same ones are received before the error occurs.I don't know whether the actual message could be the problem or something has run amuck with my computer.
I am using Windows ME. Norton System Works gives my computer a clean bill of health.
Any help would be muchly appreciated
