Let her logon on another computer and use her contacts. Two possibilities exists:
1. It's a local problem, everything goes fine on the other computer. In a business environment this calls for a fresh install of Windows XP and applications, if possible from the Ghost image of this machine. Or simply use a spare machine, so there's some more time to get her machine up to date again. If any important local files do exist that are not on a backup, first copy them across the network to a safe place. But, of course, there shouldn't be such files.
Deleting the user account, and recreating it, is the thing to try first, in this case. Just in case the unknown local error is account-specific. That's less work, and it might be effective.
2. If it crashes also on the other computer, it definitely is a problem for the administrator of the Exchange server.
Might I add I find it remarkable that people are allowed to bring in friends to research problems and reinstall Microsoft Office. Where's the IT staff in this story? Who manages the Office licenses?

Hi Guys,
I Am trying to help a freind who is having some problems with Microsoft Outlook 2000 at work. Every time the name of a contact is typed into the "TO" Field outlook crashes when It tries to Underline/Recognise the contact. The Error message generated is "Outlook.EXE has generated errors and will be closed by Windows, you will need to restart the program". "An Error log has been created" But unfortunatley I Do not know where the error log is. This will also happen If you click on the "To" Button and try to select contacts manually. The Global address book works fine however. her contacts are stored on the exchange server along with everything else and there are no PAB or PST Files. So Far I have re-installed Office 200 but this has not solved the problem, any Ideas guys?
