Outlook Calendar -- strange behavior after move

Sep 13, 2005 2:02AM PDT

We just moved and the move involved a change of time zones from Eastern to Central. On both our desktop computer (Outlook 2000, Windows 2000) and our laptop (Outlook 2003, Windows XP), all of our appointments have been spread out over two days, and all the start times have been set to 11:00 PM. If I set the time zone back to Eastern, the problem goes away.

How can I change my computer's time zone settings without screwing up all my Outlook appointments?

Microsoft never got that down pat. Tell me if you find a fix.

{sigh} Thanks Bob

It seems so basic -- offer the user the option to keep the time of day constant regardless of time zone or adjust it. Oh well.

I've chatted with 'softies about this timezone handling at various shows. The last issue of Office in 2003 still doesn't handle timezone with much grace. It all still feels like single user software at times.
