Question

Outlook 2007 how do I move .pst files to another drive?

Aug 2, 2014 7:19PM PDT

Hi all.

I have just moved all my files and folders from Windows Live mail to M$ Office Outlook 2007 email client and all is working O.K.

I now want to effect a feature that I had on WLM.

Whilst in WLM I had a very usefull setup in that I stored all my mail folder on another HD.

As a bonus I had an removable HD that I could use whenever a drive/ program gave me problems. I simply swaped drives and because all my mail was stored on another HD, my mail was always accessable from both the C drives and all was well, I could still access all my mail from both drives and they were up to date on each.

When time permitted I would then fix the problem with the delinquent drive ready for the next problem swap.

With the "new" email client, M$ Office Outlook 2007, I want to have this same feature.

This is possible as I have Goggled it on the web but here is the problem.

As I Google I find many references to this task, but they are all so very enshrined with descriptive BS that the baby is lost with the bath water as instead of explaining they simply confuse.

I do not need an explanation as to why things are so.

What I would like, and I hope someone can walk me through and simply put, click this and do that.. no other frills to cloud the issue.

So could someone please explain step by set the actual steps required to move my .pst files to another drive and have Outlook 2007 recognize them an work as it should.

Regards

Hi Kees_B

All fixed. I stumbled onto a very simple to follow procedure. I am now a happy camper, so to speak. Happy

I will resend this as I think the previous reply may not have got through.
