Outlook 2007 from Work and Home on same computer?

Sep 9, 2010 6:28AM PDT

When I take my work laptop home how do I access all my outlook e-mails and folders?

I have had it done before but I can't get it to work again.

Note: My outlook runs off an exchange server.
Also note that I can use WebMail - but prefer not to.

thanks!

You'll Need To Get Permission To Access Exchange

Most companies don't like users to have Exchange server access from remote computers.. As such, Outlook Webmail is the next best option.. If you're going to remotely access Exchange directly as if you were at work, you'll need to contact the administrators who oversee the server and get their blessing and their instructions.

Hope this helps.

I can access the exchange server remotely without problems, and my tech company set this up for me before. However that employee left and no one there seems to know what to do because it keeps "turning off" so speak. It works one hour and then not the next and then they spend 4 hours trying to figure out what went wrong and fix it.

As this is the same computer I work on at work - I wouldn't think this would be a big problem.

It's Not The Computer. It's The Access Location..

And since you've already got your IT folks working on it, they're the ones who will be best to fix the issue. Just a thought though... Check the firewall on your home router as it may be blocking the ping checks made by the server. You may also need to set the server up in your router's "safe" DMZ..Google it..

Hope this helps.

My tech company isn't any good, they can't figure out what to do.
One of their employees set this up on my computer, and now that he is no longer with the company no one there knows what he did. He left in such a way that they cannot ask him for advice.
